People credited with this unit standard are able to describe: the
legal rights of students’ within the secondary school system;
and secondary school students’ personal responsibilities and
their relationship with student rights.

Forms of discipline are described in terms of their legal status and where any
special conditions apply.

restorative practices, removal from a lesson, removal of privileges,
behaviour management programme, reprimand by principal in
front of parent(s), reports, contracts, stand-down;
two of – corporal punishment, punishment which humiliates or
degrades, sending home, internal suspension.
The suspension process is described in terms of legal grounds, types of
suspension, and procedures that must be followed.
