Attendance: Detailed attendance records will not be kept. You are responsible for material
covered in class and all assignments. History has indicated that those who attend class regularly
generally tend to perform better.
Make-up: Homework assignments that are late will not be accepted. There will be no make-up
tests or quizzes. If you will be unable to take a test on the scheduled date, arrangements may be
made to take the test in advance.
Course Grades: Course grades are determined at the end of the semester by computing the
weighted percentage of all of the components listed above. Experience indicates the breaking
points for letter grades are usually 90, 80, 70, and 55 for A, B, C, and D, respectively.
Other Information: If for any reason you feel the need to drop the course, PLEASE go through
the paper work by completing an add/drop slip from the registrar. Failure to do so will result in
an unwanted grade on your transcript. Last day to withdraw with an automatic "W" is
November 12. After that date, withdrawal requires my signature and assignment of a "W" or "F"
based upon your class standing to that point. Last possible day to drop a course is December 1.
Further important University information may be found at by going to www.cameron.edu, going
to Administration, clicking on Academic Affairs, and clicking on the Fall 2010 16 Weeks under
syllabus attachments.
Academic Dishonesty: Cheating in any form is cause for an automatic 'F' for the semester.
Description of Graded Components:
Homework: Homework will be handed out on a regular basis. The problems will probably be a
mix of my own problems and questions as well as problems and questions from the textbook.
Short Papers: These will be on the order of three – four pages and will be on a specific
question. More details will follow.
Quizzes: There will be three (3) quizzes administered during the semester. Tentative
quiz dates are 9/9, 10/14, and 11/18.
Tests: There will be three (3) full period tests administered during the semester. Tentative test
dates are 9/23, 10/28, and 11/18.
Final Exam:
Tuesday, December 14, 10:15 – 12:15 am.
