This unit standard is for people who have: successfully
completed the required New Zealand Transport Agency
assessment; been issued their Class 1 New Zealand full driver
licence; and wish to have this recognised as prior learning by
an education organisation holding consent to assess, and listed
on their Record of Achievement.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: drive a
vehicle within the conditions of a Class 1 New Zealand full
driver licence.

Information on driver licence classes and conditions, and New Zealand Transport
Agency driver licence testing requirements that must be met in order to be issued a
Class 1 New Zealand full driver licence, is available on The New Zealand Transport
Agency website www.nzta.govt.nz.

This standard must only be awarded through a process of recognition of prior
learning. This is evidenced through an application for award using a completed
application form and presentation of a Class 1 New Zealand driver licence issued by
the New Zealand Transport Agency. The required application form can be accessed
at www.nzqa.govt.nz.

Drive a vehicle within the conditions of a Class 1 New Zealand full driver licence.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Evidence must only be in the form of an official photographic Class 1 New
Zealand full driver licence issued after 27 February 2012 by the New Zealand
Transport Agency.

Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA,
before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses
of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
Requirements for consent to assess and an outline of the moderation system that applies
to this standard are outlined in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR). The
CMR also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing
to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors
