NZQA registered unit standard 4248 version 5 Page 1 of 3 Title Describe requirements and expectations faced by employees within the workplace Level 1 Credits Purpose 3 This unit standard could be of particular relevance to new entrants into the New Zealand workforce and to immigrants. People credited with this unit standard are able to describe: features of positive workplace relationships; features that contribute to the performance of workplace duties; and factors of an employment relationship. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Describe features of positive workplace relationships. Evidence requirements 1.1 Three different behaviours are described that contribute to reliability in terms of general employer requirements. Range behaviours may include but are not limited to – attendance, personal presentation, attention to workplace requirements, appropriate communication. Range attitudes may include but are not limited to – positive interaction with co-workers and supervisors, demonstrating willingness to learn, working as a team member. Outcome 2 Describe features that contribute to the performance of workplace duties. Evidence requirements 2.1 Three behaviours are described in terms of how they contribute to the performance of workplace duties. Range 2.2 behaviours may include but are not limited to – asking questions to obtain information and to clarify task requirements, identifying and using appropriate channels and procedures for communication, following health and safety requirements. Three attitudes are described in terms of how they contribute to the performance of workplace duties. Range attitudes may include but are not limited to – courtesy, helpfulness, adaptability, ability to take direction and accept constructive criticism. Outcome 3 Describe factors of an employment relationship. Evidence requirements 3.1 Factors are described that are fundamental to an employee's understanding of the employment relationship.
