Date new versions published April 2010 Planned review date December 2015 Summary of review and consultation process The unit standards listed above were reviewed as part of the Māori Qualifications Services review cycle, to ensure that the standards are still fit for purpose and applicable to current issues. Contact was made with all the education organisations accredited to assess against these unit standards but for various reasons which included – no longer required, did not fit into programmes, no interest from students – there was little usage of these unit standards since the last review. Members from the Governance of Māori Authorities Whakaruruhau met in August 2008 and March 2009 to review the standards. Comments and recommendations from all parties present were incorporated throughout the review process. The final versions of the standards were sent out for endorsement and further changes were made on the basis of feedback. Main changes resulting from the review Standard 21658 has been replaced by standard 26425 Standard 21653 has increased in level from 3 to 4 Credit value of standard 21652 increased from 3 to 5 credits Credit value of standard 21654 increased from 4 to 6 credits Credit value of standard 21655 increased from 2 to 3 credits Credit value of standard 21657 increased from 6 to 7 credits Special notes and ranges have been amended as appropriate to clarify specific terms and concepts for assessment Titles, purpose statements, elements and performance criteria have been amended to more accurately reflect intent Legislation was updated for currency.
