Date new versions published February 2010 Planned review date December 2011 Summary The sea kayaking unit standards were originally the gazetted responsibility of Sport, Fitness and Recreation Industry Training Organisation (now Skills Active Aotearoa Limited). They were transferred to ATTTO at the request of the Sea Kayak Operators Association of NZ (Inc) in 2003. The industry has now recognised that there is considerable overlap of skills between sea kayaking and flat water kayaking and their advice contributes to both disciplines, and approved the transfer of the standards back to Skills Active Aotearoa Limited. Main changes The unit standards were revised and reclassified. Special notes on Minimum Assessor Requirements (MARs) were removed. References to Quality Tourism Standards were removed from the special notes. Minor editorial amendments were made.
