Purpose
The National Certificate in Engineering and Technology (Glass Containers) (Level 3)
[Ref: 0948] is a technical qualification in the glass container manufacturing industry, and
builds on the skills gained through the National Certificate in Engineering and Technology
(Glass Containers) (Level 2) [Ref: 0947]. It is designed to provide a broad range of skills
and knowledge in glass container manufacturing, and the basis for people to progress to
the Level 4 qualification to become processing specialists.
Holders of this certificate are able to undertake a diverse range of activities related to
processing, equipment, and production, under limited supervision. This includes roles
such as advanced ware-makers, advanced verifiers and job change specialists. They will
also have gained further interpersonal skills.
This qualification can lead to the National Certificate in Engineering and Technology
(Glass Containers) (Level 4) [Ref: 0949].

Requirements for Award of Qualification
Award of NZQF National Qualifications
Credit gained for a standard may be used only once to meet the requirements of this qualification.
Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the
purpose of award. The table of mutually exclusive standards is provided on the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority (NZQA) website: http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualifications-standards/standards/standards-exclusionlist/.
Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions
and retain their identification number (ID). Any version of a standard with the same ID may be used to meet
qualification requirements that list the ID and/or that specify the past or current classification of the standard.
