Discussion, Information
All Banner databases upgraded except PROD:
SEED: Oct. 26-27
TEST: Oct. 30
PPRD: Nov. 2-3
TRNG: Nov. 5-6 (2 hrs)
DEVL: Nov. 6
CONV: Nov. 6 & 9 (2.5 hrs)
PROD: done
11. Integrating Banner access into existing user management
system. Any updates? Chase thinks he’s about done with
this and it is sending emails to Maurissa. He’ll send
approvals to Wendy as well.
12. Nov. 16-19: Load CTOOL & schemas on PROD – with the
tasks assigned during the time period, it was noticed that
PPRD must be updated prior to 11/16/09. ILT has been
notified of this change and are aware PPRD must be
completed by 11/13/09 at 5:30 p.m.
13. Cameron’s code tree for Banner ($CAMERON_HOME) on
dev-db01:
Keeping the directory structure similar to that of Banner’s
Code tree ($BANNER_HOME) will make the Banner
Upgrade process easier. That way if mods are made to
existing files in $BANNER_HOME we can identify the mod
easily in Cameron's Banner Code tree
($CAMERON_HOME).
What about naming of new files? How about keeping this
similar to the standard of what we have for IFAS except
change the module name so that they match Banners?
Where will files be stored?
Ex. rim = student
alumni
arsys
finaid
finance
general
payroll

Greg and Chase will continue to look into this.
14. Programmers will have full access in development system
and Chase and Greg will roll to TEST and PROD
15. WF SQL Training Report
Naming Conventions – samples from Judson
Store all workflow objects in WFOBJECTS.
IT staff will be able to Create and Drop from WFOBJECTS
Document procedures DBA uses to move code from TEST to
PROD.
Payroll
Conversion
Roles – associate users and roles. Determine CU roles.
DEVL – more access given - IT developers need to test
TEST – fix roles for users, remove IT role(s), users test.
PROD – move from TEST to PROD, roles should not have to
change.
14. Our understanding is that Admissions is under the
assumption that AID will continue to process awards in
Banner as they do in our current system. AID says
Admissions will be putting on their own exemptions in
Banner. The Business Office needs to let everyone know
what they need to do. IT needs to know if the non-resident
tuition status is being converted to a field that can be used for
awards. From Brenda’s email below, it sounds like no one
has discussed how this process is going to work. How
should we handle this?
15. Ran a full payroll and ran into several problems. Kurt has
turned in tickets to the action line. The HR needs to run a full
payroll, preferably today in case there are changes that need
to be done to the extract.
16. DBAs have everything set up and the files are on production.

Continue to update:
W:\workgrps\its_share\Banner\BANNER Data handling.docx –
No decisions have been made yet. They are contacting different
schools to see what they are doing and might possibly do a
workflow for part of it.
John Briggs is scheduled to be here the week of Jan 4. It might be
better to have him here in December. Kurt will review this with
Ken.
Debbie will send an email to ILT to keep them updated.
