NOMINATION FOR QUALIFYING EXAM PAPER
Use this form to submit PhD Qualifying Exam papers into the EECS compendium of
papers that serve as exemplars of quality and completeness to future students. This
collection of papers is stored and preserved at the OSU Libraries institutional
repository, ScholarsArchive@OSU, where we also store EECS dissertations.
Qualifying Exam papers submitted to this collection will not be removed.
Steps for submission:
1) If the student’s PhD program committee judges that the student’s Qualifying Exam paper is
suitable for nomination, then the advisor fills out Part 1 of this form and passes it to the student
to complete. The advisor may ask the student to revise the paper, if desired.
2) Student completes Part 2 of this form.
3) Student reads and agrees to the license agreement in Part 3 of this form. This license grants
Oregon State permission to post the paper to the repository website.
4) Student emails this form with a .pdf of the paper to margaret.mellinger@oregonstate.edu
This email must be sent from the student’s EECS or ONID email address.
5) After storing the paper to the repository, OSU Libraries will notify the student and the faculty
member by email.
