Students with studies in computer or information technology-related programs are encouraged to apply. Must demonstrate knowledge and interest in Chevron and energy industry. Awardees must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 units and have a minimum overall GPA of 3.3 at the time of the award. Submit copies of your transcripts (unofficial copies acceptable). A minimum of 1 noteworthy achievement/recognition (Dean’s List, etc.) Requirements by class: Freshman/Sophomores: A minimum of 1 membership in a technical society or extra-curricular activity (ex. Society of Women Engineers, Fraternity/Sorority, etc.) A minimum of 1 energy related internship OR non-technical work experience preferred, but not required. Juniors/Seniors: A minimum of 1 leadership role in a technical society or extra-curricular activity (ex. Society of Women Engineers, Fraternity/Sorority, etc.) A minimum of 1 technical internship related field of study. Graduating seniors should have intentions to seek a graduate degree immediately following graduation. Masters/PhDs: A minimum of 1 technical internship related to field of study preferred. Thesis/Dissertation must be on a topic that is related to energy industry. Educational/Work Background – On a separate sheet list college (past and present) workshops, seminars, academic achievements, awards and honors. Also, please list your past employers and describe your responsibilities. Your resume with this information is acceptable. Letters of Recommendation – Attach two letters of recommendation from individuals such as teachers, professors, counselors or employers who can attest to your potential for success. At least one letter must be from a college professor. Letters may report the applicant’s participation in volunteer work or employment history, notable skills, work habits, integrity, leadership skills or other abilities. Essay – Attach a 1-2 page double spaced essay on your personal goals and achievements and your career objective(s). Explain why a scholarship is needed. Include pertinent biographical information.
