British Council
The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations. We
create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and build trust between them
worldwide. We work in over 100 countries in a wide range of areas covering English, arts, education and society.

Since 2008, British Council’s Skills for Social Entrepreneurs project has been providing an international learning
and networking programme by reaching 10,000 people and communities, and 100 institutions across the UK and
counterparts in East Asia, China and South East Europe. It creates partnerships across the public, private and
third sectors. The project provides a platform for collaboration, exchange and learning from each other.

TACSO
The TACSO project (Technical Assistance for Civil Society Organisations) is funded by the EU, and is being
implemented by a consortium led by SIPU International. It has nine offices in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Croatia, Kosovo1, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey, and a Regional Office based in Bosnia and
Herzegovina. The main objective of the project is to provide technical assistance to increase the capacity of civil
society organisations (CSOs) and to strengthen their role within a participative democracy.
An important project component is to support dialogue between civil society, government and the private
sector; this sets the context for our work to support the development of social entrepreneurship and social
enterprise in the Western Balkans and Turkey. www.tacso.org
TÜSEV, Third Sector Foundation of Turkey
TÜSEV (Third Sector Foundation of Turkey) was established by Turkey’s leading civil society organizations, and
has now grown to a supporting network of over 100 associations and foundations that share a vision of
strengthening the legal, fiscal and operational infrastructure of the third (non-profit) sector in Turkey. TÜSEV
has been contributing to improving civil society laws, generating research about the sector, and encouraging
dialogue and cooperation among private, public and non-profit actors since 1993.www.tusev.org.tr
TUSEV has been implementing a “Social Entrepreneurship Project” with the support and collaboration of British
Council since 2010. The project seeks to create awareness, practice advocacy and create a network for the

Kadir Has University, Academy for Social Entrepreneurship
In order to create greater awareness about social entrepreneurship and to support social entrepreneurs, Kadir
Has University, in collaboration with the British Council and Youth Services Center, created the Social
Entrepreneurship Academy in 2011. The Academy seeks to be a leader in the field of social entrepreneurship.

Bilmeyen Kalmayacak ( Bridging the Digital Divide) aiming to increase the computer literacy of the youth in
Turkey and Düşler Akademisi (Dreams Academy) supporting the disabled youth to participate in the social life
through art are the main projects carried out by Vodafone Turkey Foundation in parallel to its aim to contribute
in the development of the society and increasing the life quality.
