Important Notes:
FACS 195C: Internship is required by NCFR for those pursuing the Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE). Enrollment
in FACS 195C requires a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and must be set up a semester in advance through consultation with an advisor
in Family Studies.
FACS 156: Child Life and Family-centered Care is required by the Child Life Council for those pursuing the Certified
Child Life Specialist (CCLS). Prerequisite for this course is a course in child development that covers birth through adolescence.
Requirements for B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences:
 120 units minimum with 40 upper division units
 General Education requirements including 9 upper division General Education units
FACS majors must have a minimum grade of C- in all prerequisite courses within and outside the department.
All students should meet with their faculty advisor at least once per academic year.
