DISCUSSION BASED ON THE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH PLAN AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS
Prior to the Fall Collaborative conference, the teacher completes the following two components of the yearly
Professional Growth Plan: 1) an online self-assessment of the Utah Effective Teaching Standards, and 2)
professional goal(s) (maximum of two) for the year using the online Action Plan template. The administrator
should review the teacher’s self-assessment and Action Plan online prior to the conference. Each goal must be
associated with the Effective Teaching Standards and address what the educator is working on to positively
impact student achievement. Teachers with a level one license should have two professional goals per year.
1. What resources will the teacher need to accomplish the professional goal(s)?
2. How can the administrator help in meeting the goals?
A. Student Growth – What student growth measures will the teacher use to demonstrate their impact on
student learning? Student Learning Objectives (SLO) and/or SAGE growth scores
1. Ensure any SLO used has been approved by the district committee.
2. Establish targets for all students addressed in SLO.
B. Stakeholder Input
1. Discuss what methods will be used to collect stakeholder input.
2. Share the stakeholder input response form.
