We have a remarkable team of psychologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, pre-doctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, psychiatric residents and administrative staff. Each team member promises you ethical, respectful and professional care. We provide a variety of free short term counseling services to students, including individual counseling, crisis intervention, group and workshops, and psychiatric consultation. In an effort to provide high quality professional services to students, UCS now offers an innovative program specifically tailored to provide quick and useful tools to help our busy CSUN students. After meeting with a counselor for the initial Intake appointment, most students are enrolled into the RIO (Recognition, Insight, and Openness) workshop series. At the completion of RIO, students have the opportunity to meet with their Intake counselor to review their experience in RIO and discuss goals and resources for their continued growth. Our mental health professionals offer outreach workshops for faculty, staff and student organizations on academic, mental health, interpersonal and wellness topics. If you’re interested in experiencing more confidence in your education, browse the ExCEL programs that are designed to help you enjoy your learning opportunities at CSUN. Are you looking to get more involved on campus and raise awareness on current issues that affect our society? Joining one of our peer education programs can be a wonderful experience that will allow you to connect with fellow students and the CSUN community.
