LESSON FOR INTEGRATED MATH LEARNING PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUES, ALGEBRAIC FORMULA and SEQUENCES via ALICE ABSTRACT: Computer programming and algebraic formula are reviewed and strengthened by the analysis and modification of a basic plotting routine written in Alice. INTRODUCTION As part of the computer skills curriculum and as a review of concepts of functions students will use the attached ALICE software (xxx.xxx). Practice in algebraic skills will be followed by students enhancing the ALICE file (added comments, rewriting code, creating new methods and expanding to 3D expressions). Array processing reviewed in detail. Students will be expected to understand the programming constructs in the ALICE file and to provide meaningful analysis and criticism regarding the program’s eloquence, accuracy, complexity, clarity and efficiency. PROGRAMMING CONSTRUCTS COVERED: Methods & Functions Variables & Arrays While Loops User Input OTHER TOPICS: Points of View and Frames of Reference. Algebraic functions and their behavior SUMMARY: Humorous routine for students to use and modify.
