University Assessment Committee
To address educational programs:
• Formed in the spring of 2010 (1st meeting
March, 2010)
• Composed of two representatives from each
academic college, one from online learning,
and two from academic support units. All are
voting members.
• Chaired by Assistant Provost for Accreditation
and Assessment, who is a non-voting member.
UAC Structure
• Each academic department or degree program
has one or two Assessment Coordinators (AC).
• Typically the Assessment Coordinators within
a college make up a Divisional Review
Committee (DRC). Each DRC is co-chaired by
at least two UAC members.
Roles and Responsibilities
• The UAC defines and implements policies and procedures,
reviews the quality of assessment plans submitted by units
within academic colleges, and reports annually to the
Provost’s office the status of the academic assessment
process within the institution.
• The DRC members evaluate all assessment items for their
particular division. They make recommended changes and
enforce policies.
• The ACs collect and coordinate assessment data from faculty
and/or staff responsible for implementing assessment
measures. They work with their faculty to write learning
outcomes for their respective programs.
