2009-2011 Catalog – Program Description Form Instructions
Submit program description information with form. Copy and paste form into a word document and enter the
pertinent information. Each program will be submitted in a separate word document. Identify document by
program title. Use bullets wherever possible when listing information or requirements.
Include:
1. Program Title
2. Name of academic school – Do not use “School of”, only submit the school name, (Example:
“Business & Information Technology” instead of “School of Business & Information Technology”).
3. Contact Information
o Include program director, associate dean, curriculum chair or main number for school – NO
names, PHONE # only and website address of program.
4. List titles of degrees and certificates
o Examples: Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Administration (Concentrations in:
E-Commerce, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Leadership Development, Management,
Marketing and Real Estate)
Certificate of Completion in Business Administration
5. Program Description
o Sell your program – contact Donne Lewis in MCO (4668) if you need help with editing.
o Differentiate between degree and certificates and concentrations.
o Financial Aid – list exceptions only.
6. Special Requirements/Information (If no special requirements – List NONE in box on template)
o Tools needed.
o When program begins, if applicable. (Term 1 begins in the X and X term only) – This will be
bolded on a separate line (see example).
o No Felony Record, if applicable.
o Licensing Requirements, if applicable.
o Physical Requirements, if applicable.
o Fees – If external fees apply to this program, say “External fees may apply.”
o Information for petitioning.
7. Career & Educational Opportunities
a. Prospects for employment.
b. Indication that the program is designed for immediate employment, if applicable.
c. Sample job duties or Competency profile.
d. General Statement regarding career opportunities or;
e. Specify job opportunities for Certificate or Associate Degree programs where applicable.
f. 2 + 2 agreements, transfer options and articulation agreements – a website reference will be
provided by MCO on all program description pages.
