Job Title: Front Desk Staff Department/Group: Campus Recreation Location: Bennett Athletic Center Level/Salary Range: $9.00 per hour Hire Contact: Natalie Ferjulian Job Description JOB SUMMARY Provides general facility supervision for the safety and operations of the Bennett Center: greeting, controlling access, and monitoring use by patrons; administering sales, memberships, activities, contracts, scheduling, and member services at the point of service; and by representing the mission and goals of the College to the campus community and beyond. DESCRIPTION OF TASKS Greet all who enter the facility and control access and use of the facility according to established policies and procedures. Monitor and control use of all program areas and the related requirements for use in these areas (camera monitor, roam facility), and enforce all policies and procedures of the Bennett Center and the College. If fitness or pool staff do not show up for their shift, please follow proper procedures. Oversee the safe usage of the Bennett Athletic and Recreation Center, and respond to incidents and emergencies according to established training and procedures. Fill out and submit incident report when necessary. Maintain an orderly desk and reception area for daily operations (sales, memberships, rentals, keys, lessons, activity fees, and desk information). Keep desk information, and promotional items fully stocked. Actively and effectively communicate program and facility information to all patrons and inquiries by posting signs, phone, correspondence, facility tours or drop-in inquiries. Possess a working knowledge and maintain daily operation of point-of-sale (POS), membership management, lighting and scheduling systems as instructed. Present yourself with professionalism and make customer service your first priority. Assist with activity setup when scheduled. Attend appropriate staff training sessions and meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or student managers. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Ability to work with a minimum of supervision in a dependable and effective manner in a highly visible position. Courteous and effective telephone and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and an ability to relate effectively to a variety of people is expected. Prior administration or customer service related experience preferred. Must have or be able to obtain a minimum of AHA Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS/AED Certification. 1
