Reflection: This activity can be fun for both educators
and students. A rebus contains pictures instead of
words for selected items in a story or in a poem. The
purpose of a rebus is to promote careful and slower
reading and the pictures help with the meaning and
purpose of the poem or story. For educators, it is a
fun activity to create; one can create a rebus on
Microsoft Word and the images can be chosen using
ClipArt.
