CNM wireless access has been extended to the north side
of the Student Resource Center (between SRC and JS
buildings). While wireless is often available near our
campus buildings, this is the first installation of outdoor
antennas to cover large areas of space where students and
staff routinely commute between classes. More outdoor
wireless is planned for the remodeled A Building
courtyard and between the Student Services Center and
Max Salazar Hall in the near future.

to a University of New Mexico STEM program. The App
will be rolled out on Sept. 25 from 9-11 a.m. at the new
CNM STEM UP Center, located in the Student Services
Center, Room 102. The new CNM STEM UP Center
provides a welcoming place where STEM students can

The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of
2013, an amendment to the Jeanne Clery Act, mandates
Title IX training for all higher education employees. You
likely have already received emails from “Workplace
Answers” with “Course Registration” in the subject line
providing you access to the training titled “Preventing
Discrimination and Sexual Violence for Faculty and
Staff.” The intent of the amendment and training
requirement is to help bolster the response to and
prevention of sexual violence in higher education. You
must take this training, so open the emails from
“Workplace Answers” and follow the instructions.
Reminders will be emailed every two weeks.
CNM’s 2014 Fall Graduation Ceremony will be held
Saturday, Dec. 6 at Tingley Coliseum. All faculty and
staff are encouraged to show their support for graduates
by participating and wearing regalia. Click here to submit
your order for graduation regalia or to let the Student
Activities Office know that you plan to participate but
that you own regalia. The deadline to submit the online
form is 5 p.m. on Oct. 15. Please note that the online
form has to be submitted to obtain a parking permit as
well.
Kat Flies, CNM’s new Presidential Fellow for
Instructional Technology, will spend the next year
exploring new ways to make the teaching and learning
experience at CNM more technology-rich. Read more at
cnm.edu/facultystaffnews.
For close to 20 years, CNM anatomy and physiology
students have learned about the human body from
cadavers provided to CNM by the University of New
Mexico School of Medicine. Very life-like, synthetic
cadavers have taken their place in CNM labs, creating a
fascinating, high-tech learning environment for students.
Read more at cnm.edu/facultystaffnews.
Beginning Oct. 6, employees will be able to change their
benefit options online during the annual Open/Switch
Enrollment period for health benefits and flexible
spending accounts. The Open/Switch Enrollment period
runs from Oct. 6 to Nov. 14. You must re-enroll in the
flexible spending account to continue it for the year
ahead. For more information about the flexible spending
account and the health benefits that are offered to eligible
employees, click here.
The Phase 2 portion of this project will be to replace
swipe cards with proximity controls. This will
require faculty/staff to have new cards.
