SITUATION
– Chevron Phillips Petrochem facility in Sweeney, TX
– Transitioning many volumetric meters to coriolis due to frequent
calibration requirements

CHALLENGE
– Very high Proving expense (monthly to quarterly) for coriolis
based on existing practices for volumetric meters

SOLUTION
– Installed dozens of Coriolis meters with Smart Meter Verification
and Wireless THUMs
– Regular SMV operation and certificate generation allows them to
extend proving time period
– Meter calibration cycle is also significantly extended due to the
greater confidence from more frequent measurement verification
