Grading
Grading is determined based on the quality, quantity, and timeliness of the work completed based on the
contract for your position. Contracts to be provided.
Attendance
This is a practicum class. Attendance is mandatory. If missing class is absolutely unavoidable, it is your
responsibility to find the professor before the class period to discuss how your work assignment is to be
covered. Multiple issues with attendance can result in being dismissed from the production, which may
impact your grade or necessitate withdrawal from the course. Your grade will reflect your class
attendance and participation. Use of the time card punch is required, when working in a crew position.
Alcohol and Drug Policy
Do not come to class under the influence of, or in possession of alcohol or any illegal substance. Anyone
caught doing so will be denied access to class. This would count as an unexcused absence. It may also
result in further disciplinary action.
Honor Code
Any material used in class must be noted as to the source or author. The Longwood University Honor Code
will govern conduct and work in this course.
Disability Statement
It is the responsibility of any student with a physical or learning disability to communicate with the
instructor at, or immediately following, the first class meeting to discuss means of meeting said disability.
Withdrawal Policy
A student may withdraw from this course in accordance with the college policy as outlined in the university
catalog.
Grading
Your grade will be assessed by the supervisor/director that oversees your given position.
First production of the semester…
I auditioned and was cast – your grade will be assessed based upon participation/promptness and
preparedness in rehearsals, tech and performance.
I auditioned and was not cast – you are now eligible to be given a production position
I did not audition – you will receive an “F”
I was given a production position – your grade will be assessed based upon the duties listed on the contract
of your position. The contracts are located on the Theatre website at:
http://www.longwood.edu/commstudiestheatre/18625.htm
It is your responsibility to download the appropriate contract, sign it and return it to Eric Koger before
beginning work in your assigned area.
Second production of the semester…
Same as above, assuming that you auditioned and was not cast / was not given a production position.
