Mission Statement The mission of the Didactic Program in Dietetics is to provide a high quality curriculum which prepares graduates for successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics accredited supervised practice program. The didactic program provides graduates with the knowledge and tools to develop the skills necessary to become leaders in the field and to translate and apply the science of food and nutrition to health. Program Goals Program Goal 1: Prepare individuals to become entry level nutrition professionals equipped to work with clients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. 95% of all students beginning the program their sophomore year will complete the program and degree requirements in no more than 54 months, which is 150% of the program length of 36 months. The new graduate match rate for supervised practice experience (internships) will increase to 37%. The overall match rate for supervised practice experience (internships) will remain at the national average, currently 47%. 33% of program graduates will apply to dietetic internship programs or pathways offering supervised-practice within 12 months of graduation. Annual surveys of internship directors of graduates of the program will indicate 95% of the respondents are satisfied with the performance of the graduate. Program Goal 2: Prepare individuals to engage in lifelong learning through profession oriented comprehensive student experiences. 80% of DP graduates will pass the registration exam as 1st time test takers after completing supervised practice.
