Course Name: Field Experience Master’s (with 5500:520)
Learning Outcomes:
 Candidates apply educational theory and research to practice in an educational
setting
Student Assignments/Requirements:


















Identify and locate computing resources and other materials that may be used in the
classroom for instructional purposes
Grade student work
Tutor individual students in course content or skills
Collect materials to be used for a presentation by the teacher from various technological
and print sources
Complete case studies of two students; Observe each student for several sessions, taking
note of behavior and social interaction; 4 page paper to summarize descriptive notes and
draw conclusions about each student’s learning
Work with small group
Compare and contrast two different teaching strategies used with the same group of
students
Supervise an in class examination or writing session
Conduct a demonstration to support the teacher’s lesson
Identify extra-curricular activities and observe one activity
Assist teacher in organizing field trip or extraordinary class related activity
Direct a group project or major learning activity
Construct short answer, multiple choice or fill in test/quiz; discuss evaluation strategies and
evidence of understanding with cooperating teacher
Conduct one lesson or presentation of course content; 4 page paper on session, and reflect
upon effectiveness
If permitted, explain one assignment to students
Assist in integration of instructional technology into a unit or lesson plan
Attend school board meeting
Discuss professional issues with school employ (non-teacher)
Assessment of Student Learning:
