PARTICULARS OF RESEARCH WORK AT PERSONAL LEVEL:
Following aspects are considered for the personal research: White grubs polyphagous,
soil borne insect pests causing severe damage to the roots of various agricultural crops.
Presently theyhave assumed the status of national insect pest. In South Wesatern Maharashtra
Leucopholis lepidophora, Holotrichia serrats, H. fissa, Anomola, Rhyniptia, Indocerus,
Oryctes etc. are found. Following aspects are considered for research work at personal level.
1.
Digestive physiology - digestive enzymes characterization studies in White Grubs.
2.
Neuroendocrines in White Grubs and other insects.
3.
Reproductive physiology of White Grubs - Role of endocrines in reproduction.
4.
White Grub haematology - haemocyte changes during metamorphosis.
5.
Effect of starvation, dessication on White Grubs.
6.
Pesticides and plant derived material effects on digestive, reproductive and endocrine
system of White Grubs.
7.
Studies on phagostimulation of White Grubs.
8.
Studies on Microflora of the gut of White Grubs.

Guidance to the farmers regarding White Grub management in Kumbhi - Kasari
River belt area.
