Introduction This document outlines the policy surrounding the purchase of Multifunction printers within CSU. The Division has a recurring two-year, preferred supplier agreement with vendors, in which they will supply to CSU options for various models (including colour and black and white), for purchase by CSU Budget Centre Managers. When purchasing MFPs, CSU Budget Centre Managers will be required to do so through the CSU Computer Shop. http://www.csu.edu.au/division/dit/compshop. If for any reason the particular requirements cannot be met through this purchasing process, the Budget Centre Manager should contact the Division of Information Technology (through the CSU Computer Shop) so that an appropriate solution can be negotiated. 2. Scope Pertains to all Multifunction network printers purchased at CSU. 3. Objectives The objectives of this policy are to standardise on the number of different suppliers and models of MFP’s to the University in order to; ensure adequate levels of service from the vendor are maintained on each campus. This will be monitored through quarterly SLA Page 2 of 4 Division of Information Technology Policy Document No: review meetings. Ensure support levels from DIT can be managed and maintained, especially in technical area of software driver compliance in both desktop and thin client environments To rationalise the number of networked printers across the enterprise To ensure minimisation of paper usage is considered and sustainable work practices are encouraged ensure staff who move between divisions or sections within the University will be familiar with the feature sets of common MFP’s 4. Timing Effective January 2007 until revoked. Applies whenever a staff member of the University wishes to purchase an MFP for their Faculty, School, Division or section. 5. Responsibilities Responsibility of Budget Centre Managers to purchase MFP’s through The Computer Shop to ensure relevant models are purchased that conform to technical standards implemented at CSU. 7. Method All multi-function printers are to be sourced through the CSU Computer Shop and if particular requirements cannot be met though this process the Budget Manager should contact the CSU Computer Shop. 8.
