ELEMENTS
•
COPYRIGHTING
– Three general principals of copyrighting:
1. Remember that your writing for the ear, not the eye.
2. Remember that your writing must be read; it takes practice to write in a
rhythm that can be read easily by someone else. Be particularly careful
about your use of comas, and dashes (incorrect usage can make the copy
virtually unreadable).
3. Pay close attention to technical format.
•
TIME AND PACE

HOW a PRODUCER USES PRODUCTION
ELEMENTS
• VOICE QUALITY
– Matching the proper voice and delivery to the message at
hand is the important element
– Another aspect of voice quality is the lack of distraction.
One of the most common distraction is in proper
breathing by the announcer. The cure for this is to
maintain generous breath support instead of trying to talk
until all breath is expended
– Plan where to take breaths; breathe at natural pauses in
the copy. Don’t just read until you can’t read anymore.

USING ELEMENTS of SOUNDS to ACHIEVE an
EFFECT
•
RECORDING a VOICE
– The most important program that you must master to
record a voice is the ability to operate a computer, mic, or
tape.
•
RECORDING MUSIC
– In particular, the music reinforces the message, you create
a perfectly time spot that includes the beginning, and end
you want. The result is a package that puts the point
across, with all the production element enhancing the
messages.
