Creating Knowledge
Please attach the CSU Research Data PDF document provided by Division of Human
Resources. This document contains a report of Charles Sturt University (CSU) research
information. Section included are:

Applications: Applications for research funding during the reporting period

Active Research Grants: All research projects that were active at any stage during
the reporting period.

HERDC Income: All research income received that was eligible for inclusion in the
Higher Education Research Data Collection.

Research Outputs: All research outputs eligible for inclusion in either the Higher
Education Research Data Collection or the CSU Research Output Collections process
and creative works awarded points internally.
For HERDC Income and Research Outputs, five years of date is provided i.e. the “reporting
period” is five calendar years prior to the year the report is produced. The current calendar year
cannot be included due to the need for a data verification process.

For Application, Active Research Grants and HDR Supervision, five and a half years of data is
provided i.e. the ‘reporting period’ is extended to include the current calendar year so that the
most up to date information available can be provided.
Pre-CSU Research Data
Applicants who have not been employed at CSU the full reporting period (i.e. since 1 January
2011) should provide pre-CSU research information from this date using the table below.
Please do not duplicate any CSU attributable data which is already provided in the attached
CSU Research Data PDF report.

Part 5 - STANDARDS
It is important to remember that it is the application and not the applicant that is assessed against
relevant standards to determine the outcome of the promotion application. The responsibility of
an applicant is to ensure that the application truly reflects their performance and individuality.
Applicants are required to provide a clear case for promotion which demonstrates that they
currently meet the University standards for academic promotion to the academic level to which
they seek promotion through their commitment to CSU core values and core strategies;
