8th India Energy Summit 2014 Energy Management for a Resurgent India 11th & 12th November 2014, New Delhi The Indian Chamber of Commerce organized the 8th edition of its annual & flagship initiative “India Energy Summit” on 11th & 12th November,2014 at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. The Summit was chaired by Mr Anil Razdan, Former Union Power Secretary, Government of India & Co-chaired by Mr N S Nigam, CMD, West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. The primary theme for this year’s Summit was Energy Management for a Resurgent India. The 2 Day conclave witnessed Exclusive Technical Sessions on: Energizing India’s Oil & Gas Sector: Coal – The Mainstay of India’s Energy Mix: Interaction with State Power Utilities: No Reforms without Distribution Reforms; Discussion with focus on Utility Perspective: Exclusive Panel Discussion with Private Discoms: Discom Dilemma – Myth or Reality? The 8th Edition of India Energy Summit witnessed the annual Presentation of Best State Power Utility Awards where Gujarat received the 1st Rank Award for the year 2014. Chief Guest for Awards Session was Ms Neerja Mathur, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority. The Inaugural Session witnessed presence of Hon’ble Minister for Power, Coal & New & Renewable Energy, Shri Piyush Goyal as the Chief Guest along with the Special Secretary, Ministry of Power, Shri Devendra Chaudhary who addressed the forum as Guest of Honour. The Summit also witnessed release of ICC State Power Utility Rating Report 2014 along with an Exclusive Report on Power Sector prepared by E&Y, the Knowledge Partner of this year’s Summit.
