What are Some Benefits of Open Access? • Increases the visibility and impact of your scholarship. • Supports OSU’s Land Grant mission. Elements of the OSU Open Access Policy • Faculty continue to publish in the journals of their choice. • Final manuscripts are deposited in ScholarsArchive@OSU. • OSU Libraries facilitates the deposit process in compliance with journal policies. • Waiver option available. OA Policies at OSU and in the U.S. • OSU Faculty Senate passed an Open Access resolution in 2005. • OSU colleges and departments have passed Open Access policies. • Leading universities establishing OA policies. • OSU would be 1st major land grant institution and 1st in greater NW. Timeline and Opportunities to Provide Feedback • March. Policy draft is made available on Faculty Senate website. • February-May. Feedback solicited via the website. Open Forums held for discussion of proposed policy. • April or May. Faculty Senate vote on adoption of policy.
