Tutoring for Spanish hours, W/ TH 2:15-3:30pm Prerequisite: Students need to have complete first year of Spanish 1 with a C- or better for CP; and for Advance students C+ or better. Freshman students or transfer students with report card establishing one year of completion in Spanish. Course Description and objectives: Students continue to learn new vocabulary, grammar and cultural appreciation of the culture. Students will be writing, speaking and reading in Spanish through the year, to help create a mature individual. (Durante el año escolar los alumnos tienen la responsabilidad de mantener una disciplina. Habrá tarea todos los días que se colectara cada viernes para ser corregida, manteniendo todo su trabajo en una carpeta tipo fólder para mantener la tarea, notas y exámenes.) Reglas-Rules 1. Goma de mascar/ no gum 2. No comidas ni bebidas con la excepción de agua. / No food or drinks, with the exception of water. 3. Absolutamente no deben levantarse de su asiento sin permiso / absolutely no standing in class without permission. 4. Cuando yo hablo, todos escuchan y guardan silencio. When I talk everyone must listen and keep quite as a respectable student. 5. Mantengan esta aula limpia. /Maintain this room clean. 6. No es permitido el uso del celular e ipod durante clases. / The use of cell phones and iPod is not permitted during class. Grading 30% Exámenes y Pruebas/ Exams and 20% quizzes 25% Tarea/ Homework / 10% Oral exam 10% Class participation 5% Portfolio RULES AND POLICIES FOR ESPAÑOL 2AVD Requisitos/ Requirements: 1. Vocabulary quizzes are given every Tuesdays and Fridays.(student must make up quiz by the next day) 2. There is going to be a test at the end of each chapter, usually on block days. 3. Must have the Spanish book and workbook everyday as a responsible individual. 4. Portfolio (folder) is a requirement for the class to keep Homework, quizzes, test and notes. 5. Projects are given for every chapter to practice orally vocabulary learned. 6. Journals are required. 7. Dictionary To have success in Spanish: Have respect for others and yourself. Take notes on your color sheets. Do all of your work and must be turned on time. Late homework is not accepted. Be responsible. Every day you will learn something. Don’t cheat or Plagiarize that a zero tolerance in my class. (Remember God is watching) Homework assignments: Due dates are listed on Descubre supersite (www.vhlcentral.com). Use pencil and/or blue or black ink only. Use complete sentences, si (yes), no are not acceptable answers. NO EXTRA CREDIT. Copying assignments will receive an automatic zero. Quizzes and Test Due dates are listed on Lesson packets and will be found on a week prior on home logic. Unexcused absences cannot do make –up work, quizzes, test.
