Assessment Methods: teacher will circulate to check answers as students work on problems.

Checks for Understanding: Teacher will check answers and circulate to answer questions.

Materials: spiral notes, textbook section 7.5, pencil, graphing calculator.

1. Warm Up - graphing logarithmic functions.

2. Graphing Logarithms – go over domain, range and asymptote.

3. Practice Graphing logarithms and identifying domain, range, asymptote, and transformations.

4. Review 7.5 Notes - Apply properties of Logarithms – properties of logarithms including the product property, quotient property and power property. Show examples of expanding and condensing logarithmic expressions. Show change of base formula to evaluate a logarithm.

3. Guided Practice – Students try examples of expanding and condensing logarithmic expressions using the properties.

4. Classwork 7.5 More Practice

7. Exit Ticket – change of base formula.
