Tickets: Throughout the year, I will give tickets to students who go
above and beyond normal classroom expectations (e.g. during
group work, I see you really working hard – a ticket; a student
provides a well thought out response to a question supported with
data – a ticket; a student helps another student after he drops his
books/papers – a ticket). The tickets can be redeemed: 1 ticket = 1
point on a quiz, 3 tickets = 1 point on a test.
 Classroom procedures
o Pencil vs Pen: All work must be in PENCIL!!! No PEN!!!
o Broken Lead: Swap pencils with Mr. Andrade/Ms. Kendall
 Extra-Curricular Activities
o In order to participate in extra-curricular activities (sports,
band, dance), you need to get your work done!
o Coaches will not be happy with you if I tell them that you
need to get your work done or I am having issues with your
behavior.
o Solve those problems here first by doing the work and
being respectful at all times!
 Smart Device Policy
o Most of the time, smart devices (phones, tablets, iPads) are
NOT allowed
 We don’t want to see or hear it
 If we see or hear it, it may get confiscated per
school policy.
o But there are times when your smart device will be allowed
to be used in class as part of some activity
o Mrs. Garrett will let you know the day before if you need to
bring your device
o If you don’t have a device, I will pair you with someone
who does.
o You will NOT be penalized for NOT having a device!
 Calling Parents Policy
o I will call your parents for positive and negative updates
