Students will create a small poster illustrating and explaining a chosen literary symbol to share with the class. Students will explain the function of symbolism in literature. Students will define and recognize imagery in literature. How will we learn it? Students will complete their symbolism posters. Students will take notes on imagery and will chart different imagery examples. How will we tell if we are learning it correctly? Students will be able to categorize imagery as visual (seeing), auditory (hearing), olfactory (smelling), gustatory (tasting), or kinesthetic (feeling). What do I need to be successful? 1. How will we learn it? Students will share their symbol posters with the class. Students will review their imagery work from Tuesday. Students will define foreshadowing and will read children’s literature to identify foreshadowing. How will we tell if we are learning these concepts/words correctly?
