Once or twice weekly, students work on our computer-based Reading Smart program. Skills
strengthened in this program include:

Follow Up/HW: Students need to study their quiz study guide for quiz

Activities for Objectives #1 and #2 : The class as a whole will review for Inference and Point
of View QUIZ WEDNESDAY (1/14/15) AND THURSDAY (1/15/15).
Activities for Objective #3:
1. Students will take notes on a PowerPoint presentation that explains theme.

Assessment Methods: Formative at this time.
Checks for Understanding: Students will read short reading passages to determine theme.
What do I need to be successful?
Materials: Notes on theme and worksheets with passages.

Follow Up/HW: Study for POINT OF VIEW and INFERENCE QUIZ Wednesday, Thursday.

unknown word.

vocabulary in context paperwork.

Daily Objective: Students will receive their laptops and begin working on a Web Quest for
the story “The Scarlet Ibis.”
