Introduction
This report is designed to summarize end-user satisfaction with the Integrated System based on the results of
annual user surveys. Data was acquired from users at The University of Virginia for the years 2005 (N = 733),
2006 (N = 684), and 2007 (N=908).
The raw data was cleared of duplicates prior to analysis. Duplicates were eliminated based on the presence of
data from repeated logons and from data with identical timestamp information. Responses were eliminated
from the “ease of use” and “helps me do my job more effectively” analysis by module if the respondent did not
indicate that they had an associated module responsibility.
In December of 2006, the UVa Marketplace (an eProcurement system) was implemented to comply with the
State’s eVA guidelines per the University’s Charter agreement. A new responsibility, “PO Shopper” was
created. Twenty percent or 232 out of 908 of the total respondents identified themselves as having ONLY
been assigned the PO Shopper responsibility. These PO Shopper Only respondents, for the most part,
represent first time users of the Integrated System. PO Shopper Only responses were captured for the first
time in the 2007 survey results.

For purposes of comparison with prior years, when responses are broken out by responsibility, the PO
Shopper Only respondents were merged with the Finance responses and those respondents who indicated
they had both HR & PO Shopper responsibilities were merged with the Finance / HR responses.

Throughout the three years users continue to favor Friend/Co-worker, Help Desk, and IS Web Site as their
first, second, and third choice.
Note: In 2004 (the base year) I.S. training manuals was ranked third followed by I.S. web site. In 2005, the IS
web site replaced IS training manuals as a third choice and in 2007 On-Line application help has surpassed
I.S. training manuals as the 4th place where users seek help first.
