You will receive an email confirming your registration 5. We will print a nametag for you. You can pick up your nametag in the Office of Career Services and Co-op (Bausch & Lomb building) any time between 8:30 and 4:30, from February 25 – March 2. You MUST bring your RIT ID to pick up your nametag 6. Because the nametags also print out majors, please check your Job Zone profile to make sure your major is correct before you pre-register How do I find companies coming for my major? Login to Job Zone, click Events, in Career Fair section, click Spring 2015 Career Fair. Click Advanced Search, select Spring 2015 Career Fair in the Day section, then select your major from the pull-down menu. You can also select any applicable citizenship requirement, and select the applicable position type. Click submit. How The results are companies attending the fair for your major. You can use this list to research and determine which companies you will approach at the fair. do I find out about company networking events before the fair? In Job Zone, click Events, then click Information Sessions. Information is listed for each company networking event, including date, time and location. No RSVP required. Company networking events are open to all students and alumni. This is a good opportunity to connect with a company on an informal basis, learn more about the company and job openings, and ask questions. Professor Jacobs is looking for a team of 2-3 students to work on App prototypes for this semester. Pay is a stipend, not hourly. The goal is to create one or more prototypes of an app for youth with anxiety disorders and/or on the autism spectrum. They create an avatar for themselves (multiple skin elements like SF, Superhero, Knight type themes and assets) for their condition (monstery, etc) and then use the app to track how often they “beat” or “lost to” their condition for the day. The Quill Writer team is looking for an intern game designer and intern developer who can help us build and test the mechanics of the game. The game is currently being tested with three schools in North Carolina as part of the Apps for Class challenge, and the interns will help us process the feedback and build new game mechanics. Quill Writer is part of Quill.org, a nonprofit organization that is building educational writing games. The Quill platform is currently being used by 60,000 students. Paid 3D Artist Position Our team is looking for a 3D artist who knows how to model, animate, and texture environment and character models for a game. The artistic direction of the game is still under development, and you would be a driving force in determining its style. The game is being developed as part of a Senior Project in the SE department, so a full semester commitment of at least 10 hours of work a week would be required. The position is paid and the salary is negotiable based on experience. Required: Experience modeling, animating, texturing, and UVing using Maya, Blender, or ZBrush. Portfolio of relevant work. The students in the Service Project class in the 3D Digital Design department can help you realize your vision. There are approximately 30 students in the Service projects classes that are available to work for various on-campus projects to help model, texture, light, and animate project using a variety of software. These are 3DDD majors, who can help you build characters, assets, or environments for your projects, as well as a variety of other tasks. They typically work in teams of 2-4 students on a Feb-March project and an AprilMay project. Crash Test Games Every Monday at 6 PM, Crash Test Games meets in 70-2400, to playtest new tabletop games being developed by students, develop new games, and play existing published games for inspiration. We’ve got a good group of students with great ideas who are always looking for new games to test and provide feedback. If so, then you need to complete an application for graduation. To apply for graduation, login to SIS (http://sis.rit.edu). From the drop down menu on the left side of the screen select “Apply for Graduation” and follow the prompts. After you’ve submitted your application for graduation, your advisor will then perform a full degree audit, and will email that report to you within two weeks of your application submission date. This audit is incredibly important, as it will let you know exactly what requirements you have remaining, and if you’ll be able to graduate in the timeframe you expect. **If you have completed a paper application for graduation, you are all set.** First Year Student Required Advising Meetings You should have received an email from the Registrar’s Office notifying you that you have an academic advising hold on your account. In order to have this hold removed, you will need to meet with your advisor. For all IGM students, we are holding group advising meetings to meet this requirement.
