Task: To research and creatively present a landmark Supreme Court case to the class in a 5-7 minute timeframe.
.
Research
1. Gather and analyze research on your court case based on primary and secondary sources
a. There needs to be at least 1 primary source used. This can be the court transcript or judge’s ruling
2. Create a rough draft/storyboard of the presentation (project leader email May 7th)
a. This should be typed or neatly drawn and include dialogue, setting details, and (MLA) bibliography
Include in Presentation
1. Background information ~ details that brought this situation to court, including the two sides’ arguments
2. Legal questions considered in the SCOTUS case
3. Verdict and key points in majority & dissenting opinions, include names of justices writing opinions
4. Impact, significance &/or implications of decision
Originality:
 All parts of your project must be original. If a project copies any part of another project’s research, writing,
graphic or presentation, both projects (& all group members) will receive a failing grade for the project.
 If a group copies any part of their research, writing, graphic or presentation from any source (books, internet
web sites, etc.) and fails to give credit to that source in their works cited or bibliography page that group will
receive a failing grade for his/her project.
