Student Performance – Cardiovascular Endurance Standard 1: Participate in moderate to vigorous health-related physical activities on a regular basis. Standard 2: Establish and monitor progress toward appropriate personal fitness goals. Performance indicator: Demonstrate competency in cardiovascular endurance activities needed for individual fitness as well as individual and team sports. Assessment task: Complete any combination of the mile run/walk, the half-mile run/walk, the quarter mile run, and/or the pacer within the set standards of time that elevates the heart rate to an aerobic or anaerobic level. Criteria for Competence (Level 3) 1. Student completes three or more fitness/skills tests at the level 2 or 3 standards. 2. Student sets goals based on personal performance in a variety of fitness/skills tests and shows improvement in any two areas.
