Unit 2 Project
You will provide FIVE examples using any five vocabulary terms from Unit 1 or Unit 2 (including
migration). Your examples will utilize at least TWO examples from Things Fall Apart and TWO examples
from The Hot Zone. The final example is of your own choosing and can be anything that you find. All
vocabulary terms must be different, as well as the examples. If you are in Chemistry, as opposed to Biology,
you will have three examples of your choosing, as opposed to two form The Hot Zone.
Specifics:
 One example must include the Epidemiological Transition Model (Google it, it’s not in your textbook).
Also handout in the HUB  best source of information about the Epidemiological Transition Model.
 Use the format discussed in class; a TS that introduces the vocabulary term, and then a CD which is
actually the “because” that identifies how the vocabulary term applies to that specific example. Your
examples should be no more than two sentences each. This power point (the one from class on
examples) is on Ms. Schmidt’s website and in the HUB for Ms. Schulz’s class.
 Clarity is best; no need to make the examples very complex. Ask yourself if you understand the
vocabulary term and if your CD addresses a specific aspect of your vocabulary term. If there is some
level of ambiguity then it may warrant a little bit more detail, but seldom should it need long
explanations to function as an example.
 This assignment is due Oct. 16th by 8:30 a.m., turned in at your teacher’s room.
 Assignment must be typed, double spaced, MLA format, 1’ inch margins, 12 pt font, Times New
Roman.
