Quick Steps for Entering Benchmark Running Record Data
Use the Chrome web browser
Log into EdPlan using www.houstonisd.org/edplan and your HISD network credentials.
Click on the blue icon labeled “Rosters”.
Click on Student Information to see a roster of your students.
Click on the name of the student whose data you plan to enter.
Scroll down on the page. On the left-hand side the words Program Tracking are displayed.
Click on Program Tracking. Select +Add tracking rubric.
Select the student whose data you plan to enter.
In the dropdown menu for the Tracking Rubric, select Benchmark
Running Record.
In the dropdown menu labeled Type, select the appropriate
assessment (HISD-BOY, MOY, EOY, or Progress Monitoring).
Add the date that the assessment was completed (not the date of
data entry). Click on the calendar icon for calendar view
Select Load Rubric.
Complete the following information in the rubric:
Teacher Name
Grade Level
Language (English or Spanish) [the language used
to administer the Benchmark Running Record]
Independent Reading Level (A-Z based upon the
outcome of the Benchmark Running Record)
Select Fiction or Non-fiction
Select the accuracy rate (a number between 95 and 100 in the drop down menu)
Optional: Add the fluency rate (a number between 20 and 140+)
Select Yes or No for Independent Comprehension Level
Notes: annotate any notes you want to recall for this student. (Include a note regarding an indication of “No” for
independent comprehension.)
Select Save, Click X to return to the navigation tree.
