Procurement Plan Template
If you are the Project Manager on a project whose level has been calculated
to be High Complexity, you will need to develop a Procurement Plan. The
following information will be needed for that plan in PMIT:
For each item you intend to purchase:
1. Procurement Item; Describe the item you intend to purchase. Give
details sufficient to delineate the required procurement method.
2. Responsible Person: The person who is leading the effort on the
procurement and responsible for following all applicable State
requirements.
3. Procurement Method: Consult with VCU Purchasing and
Procurement to determine this. The PMIT system has this coding
structure:
 RFP – Request For Procurement
 RFB – Request For Bid
 PC – Purchasing Card
 Other – describe the method
4. Delivery Date: The date the item needs to be delivered to keep the
project on schedule.
5. Delivery Location: Where the item will be delivered.
For more information on the type and contents of the above data fields in
PMIT, refer to the Procurement Plan guide in the PMIT Instructions area of
the PMO Web site.
