The Department is updating the Automotive Repair program curriculum to meet National Automotive Technicians
Education Foundation (NATEF) certification. AUSER 102 Brake Steering and Suspension is being split into 2
classes to provide for the hours of training needed in each area.

This course provides a detailed analysis of the fundamental principles of automotive braking
systems. Providing technical information in diagnosis, repairs and adjustments of disc brakes,
drum brakes, ABS and stability control systems. Best practices concerning safe use of shop
equipment and professionalism are emphasized. This course will assist students in preparing
for the ASE Brakes (A-5) examination. Not repeatable.
