ESW Seminar Series SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL WORK Monday 14th November, 5pm Room 104, Fulton Speaker Professor Peter Aggleton, Head of the School of Education and Social Work, University of Sussex presents: “HIV Prevention: What we have learned and what remains to be done” ____________________________________ In the absence of an effective vaccine, and despite the advent of antiretroviral treatment that may reduce HIV transmission, reductions in risk-related behaviour remain the mainstay of HIV prevention. In this seminar, Professor Aggleton will review what has been learned over the last thirty years in HIV prevention. He will show the high levels of new infection in countries such as the UK, contrasting these with success in some other contexts. Professor Aggleton will argue for a comprehensive approach to HIV prevention in which ownership of, and responsibility for, the HIV epidemic is widely shared. * Tea and coffee served from 5pm ** The seminar is available to join via live web streaming at: https//connectpro.sussex.ac.uk/???
