NEIU Administrative and Professional Council Meeting Minutes 20140903 Present:, Janice Alexander, Katherine Gleiss, Doug Lawson, Luvia Moreno, Thomas Tobin Absent: Maria Genao-Homs, Rebeca Lamadrid-Quevedo Tom Tobin volunteered to by the A&P Council secretary for 2014-2015. Council elected Doug Lawson and Luvia Moreno as co-chairs for 2014-2015. Council projects/reports: Participation on University-wide Councils and Committees Board of Trustees (Wojciech Wloch will continue to represent the Council) Great Service Matters (Janice Alexander volunteers for 2014-2015) Employee Excellence Awards (Tom Tobin will serve for 2014-2015) University Personnel and Budget Committee (UPBC) (Blase Masini will continue to represent the Council) New Student Affairs Commitee w/Daniel Lopez for Employee Awards (Katherine Gleiss to serve 2014-2015) Need to have reports back from A&P representatives on other university committees. Fall social event: A&P Council Potluck October 2, 2014, 12:15 pm – 2:00 pm, location TBD Dave Merrill will set up grill and meat VP Frank Ross will provide the drinks VP Michael Pierick also offered funding (follow-up) A&P Council members to donate toward the meat Web Site & Listserv Upkeep Luvia e-mailed Jean Potillo to get listserv access Web site needs updating (it displays under “President’s Office,” then “Shared Governance”). U:/Restricted/A&PCouncil/ Drive access is now established. All Council members please send a bio and picture to Rebeca for the web site. Sick Bank for A&P Employees Katherine Gleiss to follow up with HR for status. Respectful Workplace Environment project Tom Tobin to follow up with Luigi Pezzarossi (ex officio) and Natalie Potts in EEO office for status. Definition of criteria for A&P versus civil-service designation Doug Lawson and Luvia Moreno to invite Pat Michel and Marta Maso to address the Council’s next meeting. Review of educational-leave applications Luvia to follow up with Barb Sherry (ex officio) for status. A&P Council sends notice each Fall to apply to your VP for education leave.
