It provides instruction related to specific psychiatric nursing skills, as well as an opportunity for individual and small group practice of those skills in the nursing skills laboratory. Not repeatable. COURSE OBJECTIVES At the completion of the course the student will be able to: 1. Discuss the steps necessary for the safe performance of selected psychiatric nursing procedures including assessment, suicide assessment, hallucinations, grief work, limit setting, communication skills and problem solving. 2. Demonstrate proficiency in the above nursing skills in the laboratory setting.
