COURSE/CATALOG DESCRIPTION
This course is an adjunct to Nursing 250. It provides instruction to specific intermediate medical-surgical
nursing skill, as well as an opportunity for individual and small group practice at those skills in the
laboratory.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the course the student will be able to:
Discuss the steps necessary for the safe performance of selected intermediate medical-surgical nursing
procedures related to teaching, physical assessment, diabetes, respiratory, intravenous, gastrointestinal
(tube feeding and ostomy care), death and dying, and cardiac.
Demonstrate proficiency in the above skills in the laboratory setting.
