Course content covers forklift driving with training in forklift operation, workplace safety, and daily maintenance practices. Training is provided in accordance with Cal OSHA standards. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive certification to operate forklifts in accordance with Cal OSHA. COURSE OBJECTIVES At the completion of the course the student will be able to: 1. Demonstrate personal and workplace safety rules and practices. 2. Exhibit proper selection of lift equipment for a given task. 3. Implement basic pre/post trip lift truck and equipment inspections. 4. Demonstrate limitations of lift equipment based on safe workplace practices. 5. Perform lift truck operating skills utilizing basic lifting, stacking and moving maneuvers. 6. Effectively communicate using material handling equipment. 7. Select and apply basic maintenance procedures required for fueling and charging operations. 8. Demonstrate general warehousing procedures regarding flow and implementation of merchandise delivery.
