1. Describe the stages of a conventional database design method. What are
the inputs, outputs and purpose of each?
2. In a bottom-up data analysis of a library system, a many-to-many
relationship is identified between the book ISBN and borrower number
attributes, since there can be multiple copies of any one book, and a
borrower number can be related to the many books that they have on
loan. What entities can you infer from this relationship?
3. In the bottom-up data analysis two attributes identified are
CompanyCarNumber and EmployeeNumber. These are related, in which
some employees have a company car assigned do them. What entities
can you deduce?
4. Distinguish between data analysis and design. Why are both required?
5. Design a set of ERD to represent this database:The purchasing cinema
tickets should display films in each theater and allow customer to book
the ticket at the time and date at which they wish to view the film and their
credit card number. The database stores detail customers, theater, films
and bookings.
