Introductions of Network Members, Welcome New Members

Next Generation Now Support Groups: Parent Support Group meets every 3rd
Wednesday once per month from 6:00-7:00, the next session held on June 20th will
be focused on Self Care. Childcare and a meal will be provided. Positive Solution
Groups will resume on August 21st. PIWI Playgroups will resume on June 28th, and
will be held every Thursday from 1:00-2:30. Contact #635-1920 to register!

Car Seat Checks and Free Car Seat Event, sponsored by Safe Kids Racine-Kenosha

Training Reminder: UW-Extension hosting Family Teaming Training for Advanced

Just Add Kids will debut on REAL MILWAUKEE on Friday, June 15th at 9:00! For

Learning Inside Out and Upside Down, LIOUD Summer Program for kids birth to five
will kick off on Tuesday, June 19th and run through Tuesday, August 14th. The
program will be held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, 1134 Dr. Martin Luther King
Drive, #262-636-9237, no cost to participate. All children must be accompanied by a
guardian/ caregiver. Snack will be provided to children and caregivers.


Care Net Family Resource Center-Judy Van Swol, Executive Director
Faith based, non-denominational, offering parenting classes, pregnancy tests,
adoption referrals, material assistance, abstinence training and post-abortion
peer counseling and education. Incentives are offered for participating in
programming. All services are free and confidential. Racine location is 2405

Family Smart Kid Friendly Collaborative-Pam Handrow
Home Visitation and Parent Education Programs, Age appropriate activities, Parents
As Teachers Model, Information on Child Development, Parenting Techniques for
children through the age of 5. Family friendly activities are offered to families involved in

Family Literacy of Racine-Maribel Vega
Family Literacy provides programs for low income, low literacy families. Providing Early
Childhood in class and in home developmental screenings for children 0-6, school
readiness, after school programs, Adult Education Pre-GED and GED classes, Parent

Villa St. Neighborhood Camp begins on June 25th runs through August 2nd, Monday
through Thursday, 12:30-3:00. Camp will include games, physical activities, cooking, field

YMCA of Racine-Community Development Programs-Demar Garrison
Strong Communities Agenda: Young Leaders Academy, after school program 2 nd
through 8th grade, graduate and move on to YMCA Achievers, high school/college
preparatory.
Focus on Fathers Program, 13 week sessions focusing on mentoring and nurturing
skills for fathers. Monday through Wednesday, 11:00-2:00. The most recent session
began on June 11th, next session will begin in mid July. Voluntary or court mandated.
Womens Wellness Initiative, 12 week series focused on self empowerment and
physical fitness. If eligible, family will receive free 3 month membership.

Success Stories:
Racine Family Literacy had six graduates this year through their GED program.
Advancing Family Assets have families who have obtained employment and met
weight loss goals.
